Friday March 2nd and Saturday March 3rd at the New Hampshire Fire
Academy in Concord NH.
$50 for FOOLS members, $65 for non-FOOLS members. This includes
breakfast and lunch on Saturday.
Original, innovative training ideas are the cornerstone of the Fire
Service. The New England FOOLS have brought together some of the
PREMIER Fire Service instructors from around the Country for an intimate
one-day seminar.
Friday night will kick the weekend off with a keynote address presented
by Buffalo NY Fire Commissioner (Ret) Mike Lombardo. Our keynote
address is presented courtesy of Cutters Edge Fire Rescue Saws.
Friday evening's presentation will be: RED FLAGS: KEEPING US SAFE ON THE
FIREGROUND Many fine programs are available to help Firefighters deal
with mayday situations. This will hopefully help Firefighters and Fire
Officers stay out of those situations. Using actual LODD situations the
class will deal with how to identify, interpret, and rectify RED FLAGS
that confront us everyday on the fire ground. Thru lessons learned in
LODD's and Near Miss incidents, Firefighters and Fire Officers will come
away with tools to keep themselves and those in their command safe on
the fire ground.
Saturday will be moderated by Captain (Ret) Mike Clark of the Hanover
FD.
Presentations will include:
* "New Vehicle Technology and Rescue Readiness" presented by
OnScene Training Assoc from New Jersey
* "Combat Ready, the philosophy of always being ready to do battle
and not letting complacency or routine become part of your FD culture"
presented by Traditions Training from the Greater DC/MD area.
* "Modern Day Fireground Hazards and the Mayday" presented by PL
Vulcan Fire Training Concepts from Boston and the FDNY.
Saturday will culminate with the opportunity for a sit-down round-table
discussion with ALL of the weekend's instructors. The discussion will
be driven by questions that come from the attendees submitted
beforehand.
We know that budgets are tight, both at the Fire Station and at home.
We have set up a Seminar full of realistic training for a realistic
cost. For those attendees looking to save even more money, we have made
arrangements for lodging in the dorms at the New Hampshire Fire Academy.
Lodging is FREE for New Hampshire Firefighters. Out-of-state
Firefighters lodging in the dorms is only $40 a night. You are
responsible for your own lodging, fill out and submit this form,
http://www.nh.gov/safety/divisions/fstems/documents/DORMRES.pdf
<http://www.nh.gov/safety/divisions/fstems/documents/DORMRES.pdf> , via
fax or mail to the NH Fire Academy. There are only 48 spots available,
and are first-come/first-served.
We have worked out an arrangements with the Courtyard Marriot in Concord
for reduced rates. You need to call the hotel directly, DO NOT go
through the website. When you call, tell them that you are with the New
England FOOLS. They have provided us with a sizeable discount. The
