[NHDOE-ETNews] Update: Computer Technology Educator Credential

You may recall that the standards for the "Computer Technology Educator"
credential are in the process of being updated. A list of the committee
members working on the revision can be found on a public wiki
<http://computertechedstandards.wikispaces.com/> . In August, the
committee circulated a quick response survey to gather additional input
from the field and used the results
78ATP_2bFtFz0_3d>  to help guide the work.
Last month we presented a draft of the new standards to the Professional
Standards Board (PSB) and circulated notices about the draft on four
different listservs: ETNews, NHSTE, NHEMA (NHSLA), and NHASP. As a
result we received some great feedback, such as:
*	These are great and long overdue.
*	It was smart to use the new NETS-T standards as a starting
*	These new draft standards look great but please change the name
because the current name is outdated and creates confusion about what
should be taught.
On Monday, 10/26/09, the recommended standards will again be presented
to the PSB with the intention of moving them forward in the process. The
next steps include presenting them to the Council for Teacher Education,
entering the NH rulemaking process, submitting them to the Joint
Legislative Committee for Administrative Rules, and then the State
Board. During the process before they become final and take effect,
there are still opportunities for public comment and revision. That
said, it's really better to address any revisions earlier rather than
later in the process. Therefore, if you are inclined to do so, please
