Title II-D ARRA Grants for 21st Century Classrooms
The Request for Proposals for NCLB Title II-D American Recovery and
Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funds for educational technology projects, along
with the application form, was posted to the NHDOE Recovery website
today, September 9, 2009. The deadline for districts to submit proposals
is November 6, 2009. A series of technical assistance sessions in the
form of webinars and face-to-face sessions will be offered beginning
tomorrow and continuing through September and October. These sessions
are intended to assist districts in becoming familiar with the federal
requirements and in writing their grant proposals. Registration for
these sessions is requested in order to ensure enough space and
materials are available. Please visit http://www.ed.state.nh.us and
click on the NH Recovery image.
Title II-D Regular Grants
We expect to post the application information for regular Title II-D
funds for educational technology tomorrow, September 10th. ARRA plus the
regular Title II-D funds provide three types of projects for which
eligible districts may apply:
Title II-D ARRA grants are directed at large 21st Century Classroom
grants ($150,000 or $200,000) to school districts and/or consortia of
school districts to transform the learning environment through the
substantial, innovative integration of educational technology and
information literacy into their practices, in order to advance student
learning.
Title II-D regular grants will support the Tech Leaders Program and the
Classroom Technology Mini-Grants Program, providing grants in the amount
of $10,000 per program per district to school districts to support the
professional development of teachers and administrators and the
integration of technology into instruction, in order to advance student
learning. Districts may apply for one or both grant types and may submit
applications individually or as consortium applications. Regarding the
Tech Leaders Program, districts are strongly encouraged to apply as part
of a consortium.
The regular RFP will be posted at www.nheon.org/oet/nclb. We will send
another notice when it is posted and available for download.
