The RFP and application forms for the 2009-10 round of NCLB Title II-D grants is posted at http://nheon.org/oet/nclb/index.htm. The deadline for submission is October 23rd with anticipated awards on or about October 30th.

There are two types of grants available:

Tech Leader Cohort (TLC) grants provide $10,000 per school for participation in this statewide professional development program. Teachers would receive a $2,000 stipend and participate in a combination of online and face to face activities. Principals would be involved in a modest number of activities, as well, in order to support increasing their familiarity with the program and with innovative technology integration approachs. Teachers and principals would be provided an iPod Touch for use with program activities. Registration costs for special events are also included. Districts are strongly encouraged to partner with Local PD Centers in order to form consortium grants with strong coordination across districts.

Classroom Tech Minigrants provide $10,000 per team (one application per district) for participation in this statewide program. Teams of 2-4 educators would engage students in project based learning to address core content areas using new technology tools. With this program, we hope to fund exemplary projects in each grade range and content area that can be replicated by other schools in the future.

In order to ensure enough reviewers for the process, we ask districts to submit an intent to apply by September 30 using the link on site listed above.
