What is Joomla!? Joomla! is a free content management system (CMS) used
to create web sites on a web-based platform. If you've heard good things
about Joomla!, but are wondering where to
start, join us for this hands-on session. We'll answer questions like
these..."I installed Joomla, now what?" "What's the difference between a
component, module, and a plugin?" "I created an article - now how do I
get it to show up on my homepage?"

We'll help you get going with your Joomla! website. This is a HANDS-ON
workshop - learn about site planning, create your first menus and pages,
and learn a little about MySQL/PHP. If possible, please bring your
laptop with a freshly installed version of Joomla! If you don't feel
comfortable
installing Joomla! from scratch and you have a web host, check to see if
they have easy "one-click" installation through Fantastico (or other
application installer). You can also sign up for a 30-day trial demo
site at http://demo.joomla.org

No laptop? No problem. Please check YES or NO in the registration form
if you will need your own laptop. We will try to accommodate all
requests.
