Workshop on

For Professional Learning Teacher Effectiveness & Student Achievement
featuring Dr. Ruben Puentedura

>From Learning Forward

Educators have a myriad of technology tools at their disposal.
Leveraging the use of those tools to enhance teacher learning as well as
guiding the learning of students is the focus of this conference. Learn
about SAMR (shown below), a model designed to help educators design,
develop, and integrate digital learning experiences to transform
professional learning experiences that lead to high levels of
achievement for students. As educators, learn how to create your own
learning environments as well as those for students in your classrooms.
Bring a lesson that you would like to use as a discussion and
application example. Explore learning analytics. Beyond testing, how do
we assess at a deep level what is going on for student learning? Outside
the classroom, what are structures that help schools meet learning goals
for all participants - teachers as well as students?

Dr. Puentedura is the founder of Hippasus, an educational consulting
firm designed to transform education by combining a broad range of
information technologies with novel

educational approaches and rigorous metrics for the evaluation of
results. In addition to developing models for understanding, Dr.
Puentedura has a web blog and an extensive list of podcasts with
examples of content using his SAMR and TPCK models. Dr. Puentedura
works with schools in the Maine Learning Technology Initiative (MLTI)
assisting educators in the integration of technology, content, and
pedagogy. One school's technology integrator described Dr. Puentedura as
"one of the most intelligent people I've ever met", "wonderful at
fielding questions", "great at dealing with 'what if' situations", and
as possessing "a wicked sense of humor".

Thanks,
