ITEM:

Online Assessment Readiness Tool

The Online Readiness Tool that has been developed for the Smarter
Balanced Assessment Consortium and PARCC will be open on April 2nd
through June 14th and available for the baseline data collection from
your districts. The training materials are already accessible on the
Assess4Ed site at www.assess4ed.net <http://www.assess4ed.net> . This
community is open to all interested parties and if you have not already
joined the Community, you are encouraged to do so. Once on the
Community, join the New Hampshire group for our state updates, and the
Technology Readiness Tool Public Updates group.

Online training modules are available on the Assess 4Ed site. These
training modules will give step-by-step instructions for using the tool
and will also assist in interpreting the reports the tool can generate.
Look for an additional alert regarding the availability of these
modules. A User's Guide and FAQ document will also be available on the
site. The consortium is dedicated to providing essential training and
support to make this process a smooth one.

The Training Module for the tool can be accessed at:
http://www.techreadiness.org/t/trt_training/player.html.

Prior to the April 2nd release in NH, the NH DoE will upload as much
school/district data as we can into the tool, so it will be prepopulated
with some data. Superintendents and principals will be given District
Admin access and can then assign users as necessary for each school. We
will send notice to each administrator prior to our opening the tool to
them, and the tool will send an email to individual users with a key and
instructions for accessing. A notice will also be posted on ETNews when
those notices go out. If you are the person who will be working with
the tool, your administrator will most likely contact you, but you might
consider being proactive and working with your administrators.

Adding your data to the tool this first time is required for
establishing your school's baseline information. For the five
subsequent windows in which the tool will be open, your baseline data
will be saved and using the tool will just be a matter of updating.
Using the tool throughout this preparedness period is essential for your
district's ability to be prepared for the online assessment in 2014.
The data you will get when using the tool will be essential to your
technology committee as they develop and design your districts
technology plans for the future.

Thank you for your efforts in supporting the successful collection of
this data. If you need additional assistance, please contact Stan Freeda
(271-5132 or Stanley.Freeda at doe.nh.gov).
