NH 2012 Fall Arts Education Conference

"Opening Minds to the Arts" 

Investing in Arts Education for a New Generation

 

Oct. 19 & 20, at AVA Gallery & Art Center (Lebanon) and the Kearsarge
Regional Middle School (N. Sutton) plus other partners in Lebanon & the
Upper Valley. Keynotes, workshops, seminars, exhibits, resources, a
poetry trail and partial scholarships available for NH teachers. To

Special focus on STEM to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math
+ "A" for Arts & Design):

Saturday, October 21st: Kearsarge Regional Middle School, North Sutton,
NH

Keynote Speaker/Workshops: Colleen Macklin, Game Designer; Associate
Professor, Design and Technology, Parsons the New School for Design and
Design Director of PETLab, a project of Games for Change and Parsons,
supported by the MacArthur Foundation.  Plus a STEM to STEAM panel
conversation with artists, scientists and educators. 

 

The conference is open to all educators, teaching artists, parents,
youth workers, librarians, community arts leaders, artists from all
disciplines, and anyone interested in innovative practices and arts
education in schools, educational settings and communities. 

 

Conference First Day:

Friday, October 20th: AVA Gallery & Art Center, Lebanon, NH 

Keynote Speaker: Sandra Ruppert, Ex. Director of the national Arts
Education Partnership. Learn about ArtsEdSearch, the nation's first
online arts education research and policy clearinghouse.  

 

The conference is sponsored by the NH State Council on the Arts, in
cooperation with the Arts Alliance of Northern NH; AVA Gallery & Art
Center; the Kearsarge Regional School District; the Lebanon Opera House,
the NH Department of Education, Dartmouth College, and the National
Endowment for the Arts.
