ITEM: Leaders & Achievers Scholarship Program: Deadline Dec. 3

Do you know a high school senior that is making a difference at your organization? Through Comcast's commitment to youth education and leadership across the country, we have created a scholarship program called Leaders & Achievers to help send students to college. Leaders and Achievers was initiated in 2001 and has since awarded over 23,000 students more than $24 million in scholarships.

This year, we need your help bringing this scholarship to the attention of your local guidance counselors and principles who are eligible to nominate a student with a proven commitment to serving and getting involved in their communities. Last year, we were able to award 112 scholarships in Massachusetts and 31 scholarships in New Hampshire. One student per state will also receive one $10,000 Founders Award Scholarship based on their extraordinary ability to change the community they serve. All applications must be completed by Thursday, December 3rd for the student to be considered.

This is unlike many other academic based scholarships; the students are evaluated on their ability to change the community they live in by committing their time outside of school hours. To be considered for the program, a student must:

* Be a full-time high school senior in a community served by Comcast

* Be nominated by a high school guidance counselor or principal

* Maintain a GPA of 2.8 or higher

* Demonstrate leadership abilities in school activities or through work experience

* Show a strong commitment to and involvement in community service

* Plan to attend an accredited nonprofit college, university or vocational/technical school in the US.

Please reach out to your local schools to help nominate the student that makes a difference for your organization. If you would like help reaching a particular school or guidance counselor, please reach out to Courtney_Cannon-Booth at cable.comcast.com<mailto:Courtney_Cannon-Booth at cable.comcast.com>.

Thank you so much for your help,
