ITEM: ISTE Introduces new ISTE Standards for Students 2016
At the recent ISTE 2016 Conference in Denver, ISTE launched a refresh of the ISTE Standards for Students. Now, more dynamic and learner centered, there are 7 standards, defined by several indicators each. They focus on learner transformation of learning with technology.
* Empowered Learner
* Digital Citizen
* Knowledge Constructor
* Innovative Designer
* Computational Thinker
* Creative Communicator
* Global Collaborator
Check out the new standards at http://www.iste.org/standards/standards/for-students-2016.
Note: ISTE now requires licensing for direct use of these standards on your webpage. While you can still use them to help guide and frame your teaching practices, be careful how your refer to them, and don't post or use the ISTE standard or indicator language directly without requesting permission, or purchasing the license.
Permitted educational use includes using the standards to:
Guide teaching and learning.
Help educators create lesson, curriculum and technology plans.
Inform graduate and academic work (papers, portfolios, theses, dissertations, research projects, course materials).
Frame job role descriptions, requirements and goals.
Individuals or organizations seeking permission to use the ISTE Standards on a webpage or within a digital platform should request a license under ISTE's "digital use" requirements. Conversely, it is permitted to link to the ISTE Standards on ISTE's webpage rather than post them directly. All uses require proper attribution. For theses, dissertations, portfolios and other uses resulting in an artifact, ISTE requests that, in lieu of a fee, you share a copy in digital format with standards at iste.org<mailto:standards at iste.org>.
