ITEM: FCC Lifeline Program Modernization Update

The FCC is scheduled to vote on the modernization of the Lifeline program<https://www.fcc.gov/general/lifeline-program-low-income-consumers> "to efficiently and effectively connect low-income Americans to broadband, strengthen program oversight and administration, and take additional measures to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse." The Lifeline program can potentially offer the opportunity for $9.25-per-month subsidy for standalone broadband service or bundled voice and data-service packages. This effort to increase home access to broadband can help reduce the homework gap.
